Dr. James D. Gould is a board-certified Otolaryngologist who completed his residency training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, the Nation’s premiere Otolaryngology program. Upon completion of his residency in 1999, Dr. Gould founded Synergy ENT Specialists.

Since then, Synergy ENT Specialists expanded to include the following medical providers:

In 2005, new advancements in sinus care led way to the FDA approval of Balloon Sinus Dilation. The procedure was mainly performed in hospitals and surgery centers, but in 2010 Dr. Gould began transitioning the procedure into his office. He felt the transition only made sense – the downtime for the patient is dramatically less (typically 1 day), there’s no need for general anesthesia and the cost is much less for the patient and healthcare system.

Patients raved about their amazing results and word of mouth quickly spread within the community. As a result, patients began coming to our office from surrounding cities, counties and even states. In order to accommodate patients' requests for the procedure, Dr. Gould created the St. Louis Sinus Center and established a secondary office in Ladue.

Since 2010, Dr. Gould has performed thousands of In-Office Balloon Sinus Dilation procedures and is known by his peers as a pioneer. Regularly, ENT surgeons travel across the country to the St. Louis Sinus Center to observe and learn his techniques of In-Office Balloon Sinus Dilation. As a result of his extensive training initiatives, he is recognized as a National Center of Excellence.

The success of In-Office Balloon Sinus Dilation led Dr. Gould to transition many more procedures to the office - further optimizing patient care. The days of having invasive sinus and nasal surgery at the hospital or surgery center is rapidly being replaced with simple, proven, in-office procedures. To say the least, Dr. Gould has revolutionized the way sinus and allergy patients are medically treated!
